GLOBAL DOMESTIC-WORK PAY GUIDE · COMPILED 27 OCT 2026

Understand the costs before choosing a match.

Hourly cleaners, live-in helpers and childcare workers are priced differently across regions. These public examples explain cost categories; they are neither a universal price list nor our quotations.

United States

US$21.61 / hour

Platform average listed rate

Care.com’s October 2026 nationwide platform average for house cleaning. Not a statutory wage or our quote; location, tasks and demand affect actual prices.

Care.com · House Cleaning · 2026-10
United Kingdom

£13–15 / hour

Worker pay on one platform

Housekeep’s published cleaner pay range. Not the customer’s final bill or a UK-wide market average.

Housekeep Support · How much do I get paid?
France

€12.31 / hour

One gross minimum-pay reference

The hourly SMIC amount shown by Service Public on 17 June 2026. Household employment also requires comparison with the applicable collective-agreement minimum, using the more favorable rate. Not a cleaning-company quote.

Service Public · Paie du salarié à domicile · 2026-06-17
Hong Kong, China

HK$5,220 / month

Minimum allowable wage for foreign domestic helpers

Applies to relevant contracts signed from 3 October 2026. Food, accommodation and other obligations are separate. Not a minimum for every domestic role or a mainland hourly-service rate.

Cost structure

MOM lists no qualifying minimum salary for the migrant domestic worker work permit. Check agreed wages separately from levy, food, accommodation, insurance and agency fees; one item is not the total cost.

Five questions before comparing prices

Is this take-home worker pay, gross wages or a customer service price? Is it hourly or monthly? Is it live-in? Are taxes, food, accommodation, travel and supplies included? Is an agency fee separate?

In mainland China, worker pay is negotiated by city, role, experience, hours and living arrangements. Our employer-paid membership includes an agreed matching allowance; enquire for plan details. Figures are dated examples with distinct definitions, without currency conversion or ranking. Recheck current sources before relying on them. This guide does not offer cross-border recruitment.

Overseas Membership Illustration · Not Our Price

CNY 3,358.55 × 80% = CNY 2,686.84 ≈ CNY 2,687

Sample: Town + Country Resources publishes a one-time US$500 membership-initiation fee. Converted using the 27 October 2026 central parity rate of CNY 6.7171 per US dollar. This is a membership-initiation fee, not worker wages.

Important distinction: that overseas example charges a placement fee separately, so initiation is not its total service cost. Its scope differs from Pure Space membership with an agreed matching allowance. This is a budgeting illustration, not an equivalent-benefit comparison, a universal overseas standard or our final quote.

Final RMB membership fee, term, matching allowance, counting rules and replacement or refund terms are confirmed in writing after consultation for the city, role and household. The dated reference rate does not update automatically. Worker pay is excluded; online payment is unavailable.

SIX DIRECTIONS FOR OUR OPERATIONS

Households at the center. Clear agreements at the foundation.

01

Household Needs First

Create a brief covering city, role, routines, budget and preferences, rather than making introductions without understanding the household.

02

Consultative Role Matching

Discuss cleaning, housekeeping, companionship, maternity and childcare roles separately, clarifying duties, experience and excluded tasks.

03

Transparent Checks, Independent Choice

Explain check scope, information sources and unresolved points. Interviews and agreed trials help families and candidates understand each other.

04

Clearly Defined Membership

Employer-paid membership includes agreed matching services, with price, term, counting rules and remedies confirmed in writing; overseas fee models are not copied.

05

Communication After Matching

Gather feedback and coordinate issues or adjustments within the agreed scope, improve household briefs and respect workers’ labor and rest.

06

Education and Local Practice

Translate international lessons into useful role, cost, interview and privacy guidance for households in China, improving nationwide operations step by step.

These directions guide service design and operational improvement. Actual services, check scope and membership benefits depend on consultation and the written agreement. Compiled in October 2026.
